A past paper should give you a clear next step. The mistake many students make is checking the score, feeling good or bad, then moving on without changing how they study.

Step 1
Do it like the real exam
Set 100 minutes, keep notes away and answer in one sitting. A past paper only tells you something useful if the conditions are honest.

Mark guesses and skipped questions
Do not only write your final answer. Mark which questions were guessed, which were slow and which felt unclear.

Step 3
Score it, then sort the mistakes
The score is just the starting point. Sort each missed point into Biology, Chemistry, Physics/Maths, reasoning, reading, timing or careless error.

Turn mistakes into your next practice set
Pick the weakest two or three areas and practise those topics online before doing another full paper.

Turn the result into practice
If Biology mistakes dominate, do Biology sets. If calculations are slow, train Physics/Maths under time pressure. If reading questions feel vague, practise elimination and evidence checking.

Where can I find official IMAT past papers?
Use official MUR, CINECA or accessoprogrammato sources whenever possible. This archive links to sixteen official English papers from 2011 to 2026. Open the MUR archive if an individual PDF does not load.
Are IMAT Mentor past-paper materials official?
No. Official papers and official rules belong to the relevant Italian authorities. IMAT Mentor helps you use those papers better through practice, review structure, explanations and study planning.
Should I start my IMAT prep with past papers?
Do one early paper only if you want a baseline. For most students, topic practice comes first, then timed sets, then full past-paper review.
Can I repeat the same past paper many times?
You can, but the value drops once you remember the answers. It is usually better to review the mistake pattern and practise similar questions by topic.
Do I need answer explanations?
A worked solution explains the reasoning behind an answer. IMAT Mentor sells worked solutions and practice-bank access. You can create a free account to try the available free practice before choosing a paid option.
Where are the IMAT answer keys?
Check the official reference published with the paper. MUR states that every correct answer is option A in its published 2026 reference version. Candidates’ exam versions have a different option order, so match the question text before marking. A correct option alone is not a worked solution.
